Frame Options
Parrett Windows & Doors offers a selection of frame options designed to complement their diverse range of patio doors. These options provide aesthetic versatility and structural integrity, ensuring a seamless integration into various architectural styles.
Frame Options
- Wood Frames: Parrett's wood frames are crafted from high-quality wood, offering a classic and warm aesthetic. These frames can be stained or painted to match existing décor, providing a traditional and elegant appearance.
- Aluminum Clad Wood Frames: Combining the natural beauty of wood on the interior with the durability of aluminum on the exterior, these frames offer the best of both worlds. The aluminum exterior provides superior weather resistance and low maintenance, while the wood interior allows for customization and a refined look.
- All Aluminum Frames: For a modern and sleek design, Parrett offers all-aluminum frames. These frames are known for their strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion and warping, making them an excellent choice for contemporary applications.
Glass Options
Parrett Windows & Doors offers a variety of glass options to enhance the performance, aesthetics, and energy efficiency of their exterior patio doors. These options are designed to meet diverse needs, from improved insulation and UV protection to decorative elements.
Standard Glass:
- Clear Insulated Glass: This is the standard offering, providing a clear, unobstructed view. It consists of two panes of glass separated by a spacer, creating an insulating air gap.
Performance Glass Options:
- Low-E Coatings: Parrett offers various Low-E (low-emissivity) coatings. These microscopic metallic coatings are applied to the glass surface to reflect infrared light (heat), reducing heat transfer. This helps keep homes cooler in the summer by reflecting solar heat and warmer in the winter by retaining interior heat. Different Low-E options are available to optimize performance for specific climates.
- Argon Gas: In conjunction with Low-E coatings and the insulating air gap, Argon gas can be introduced. Argon is a denser, inert gas that is a better insulator than air, further improving the thermal performance of the insulated glass unit.
- Tempered Glass: This safety glass is heat-treated to be stronger than regular glass. If it breaks, it shatters into small, relatively harmless pebble-like pieces, reducing the risk of serious injury. It is often required by building codes for doors and windows in certain locations.
- Laminated Glass: This type of glass consists of two or more panes of glass bonded together with a plastic interlayer (typically polyvinyl butyral or PVB). If broken, the glass adheres to the interlayer, creating a spiderweb pattern rather than shattering into pieces. Laminated glass offers enhanced safety, security, and sound insulation.
- Obscure/Privacy Glass: For areas where privacy is desired, Parrett offers obscure glass options. These can include frosted or textured glass surfaces that obscure the view while still allowing light to pass through.
Decorative Glass Options:
- Grids (Divided Lites): Parrett provides various grid configurations to enhance the architectural style of the doors. These can be:
- Internal Grids: Grids are sealed between the glass panes, offering the visual appeal of divided lites without compromising the ease of cleaning the glass surface. Available in various profiles and finishes.
- External Grids: Grids are applied to the exterior of the glass.
- Color Tints: Certain color tints can be incorporated into the glass to alter the light transmission and provide a specific aesthetic.
Each glass option contributes to the overall performance and appearance of Parrett's exterior patio doors, allowing for customization to suit individual project requirements and preferences.

Parrett Windows & Doors offers a range of hardware options designed to complement their exterior door offerings, ensuring both style and functionality for your home.

Locking Mechanisms
Security is paramount, and Parrett equips their patio doors with comprehensive locking solutions. This includes:
- Multi-Point Locking Systems: Available on many of their side-hinged and French patio doors, these systems engage multiple locking points along the door panel, offering enhanced security and draft resistance.
- Active and Inactive Panels: For French doors, hardware is provided to secure both active and inactive panels, ensuring a tight seal and robust protection when the doors are closed and locked.
- Sliding Door Hardware: Their sliding patio doors feature integrated locking mechanisms that are designed for ease of use and security, often incorporating robust latching systems.
Handles and Pulls
The aesthetic appeal of your doors is significantly enhanced by the choice of handles and pulls. Parrett offers a selection of hardware designed for both visual harmony and ergonomic comfort. These are available in a variety of styles and finishes to suit diverse architectural designs, from classic to contemporary.
Hardware Finishes
To ensure a cohesive look throughout your home's exterior, Parrett provides a curated selection of hardware finishes. These finishes are chosen for their beauty and their ability to withstand environmental exposure, maintaining their appearance for years to come. Common finish options may include:
- Oil-Rubbed Bronze
- Brushed Nickel

The specific availability of finishes may vary depending on the door style and hardware collection chosen.
Accessory Hardware
Beyond the primary operational hardware, Parrett also offers accessory hardware designed to enhance the functionality and appearance of their patio doors. This can include items such as door stops, flush bolts for French doors, and specialized hardware for their sliding door systems, all designed to integrate seamlessly with the overall door design.
Price Tier
Market Position: Premium ($$$)
How It Compares: Compared to mid-range patio doors, Parrett's offerings provide significantly enhanced durability, superior energy efficiency, and a wider range of customizable options. Moving up to their luxury tier would introduce even more bespoke materials and advanced, energy-saving technologies.
Key Value Drivers:
- Material Composition/Grade: Parrett typically utilizes high-quality wood species for their interior and exterior finishes, often paired with robust aluminum or fiberglass exteriors for maximum weather resistance and longevity. This combination ensures both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity.
- Longevity and Warranty Coverage: Products at this tier are designed for extended lifespans, often backed by comprehensive warranties that reflect their superior construction and materials, providing peace of mind for homeowners.
- Installation Labor Complexity or Included Features: While installation labor costs can vary, Parrett doors often come with features that can streamline installation, such as integrated hardware and precise engineering. The attention to detail in their manufacturing means fewer on-site adjustments are typically needed, potentially reducing labor time. Their custom capabilities allow for precise fits, minimizing the need for extensive modifications.
- Aesthetics and Customization: A significant driver of the premium positioning is the extensive range of customization available. Homeowners can select from various wood species, finishes, hardware options, and grille patterns, allowing for a door that perfectly matches their home's architectural style.
Best Suited For: Homeowners seeking a long-term investment in their property, prioritizing both exceptional performance and a high level of aesthetic personalization. This tier is ideal for custom-built homes, significant renovations, or homeowners looking to significantly upgrade their property's appearance and energy efficiency with a product that will last for decades.
Options-Styles
Parrett Windows & Doors offers a comprehensive range of style options for their exterior patio doors, designed to complement various architectural aesthetics and homeowner preferences. Their product line encompasses hinged French doors and sliding patio doors, each with distinct design possibilities.
For their hinged French doors, Parrett provides a classic and elegant solution. These doors are characterized by their multiple glass lites, which can be configured in a variety of patterns to suit traditional, transitional, or even contemporary styles. Homeowners can select from an assortment of grille options, including simulated divided lites (SDLs) for an authentic divided pane look, or removable grilles for easier cleaning and a more expansive glass view. The frame styles themselves are designed to be substantial and visually appealing, often featuring a flush glaze for a clean, modern appearance or a profiled glaze for a more traditional feel. Hardware finishes are also a key stylistic element, allowing for customization to match existing fixtures or personal taste.
The sliding patio door collection from Parrett Windows & Doors offers a more minimalist and space-saving approach. While often characterized by larger expanses of glass to maximize natural light and views, these doors also present opportunities for stylistic differentiation. The primary aesthetic considerations revolve around the frame profiles, the type of hardware, and the glass options. Parrett offers different frame designs that can contribute to a sleek, contemporary look or a more robust, traditional feel. The hardware, while functional, also plays a role in the overall visual impression, with various handle styles and finishes available. Furthermore, the type of glass selected, such as low-E coatings or decorative patterns, can subtly influence the door's appearance and performance.
Across both product categories, Parrett emphasizes the importance of material and finish choices in defining the style of their exterior patio doors. This includes:
- Frame Materials: Options such as wood (available in various species) and clad exteriors (offering enhanced durability and a range of color choices) provide different aesthetic and performance characteristics.
- Glass Options: Beyond standard clear glass, homeowners can explore options like tinted glass, frosted glass, or patterned glass to add privacy and decorative flair. Energy-efficient glass treatments are also available and can sometimes have a subtle visual impact.
- Hardware Selection: The handles, locks, and hinges are available in a wide array of styles and finishes, from polished brass to brushed nickel, allowing for fine-tuning of the door's overall aesthetic.
- Grille Configurations: For French doors, the layout and design of the grilles significantly impact the door's style, ranging from classic colonial patterns to simpler, more modern divisions.
The ability to customize these elements allows for a high degree of personalization, ensuring that Parrett's exterior patio doors can be seamlessly integrated into any home's design.
